Travelling in and around Perth

Perth Western Australia is a wonderful city to visit. When you're IN the city you should find it EASY to navigate on foot, by car, or by using the CAT buses which offer free transport routes throughout the city. If you're exploring the CBD there are many car parks to choose from although the one beneath the Exhibition Centre offers easy access to both Elizabeth Quay and the CBD.

Arriving in Perth:

Perth's Airports are modern and sophiticated, and getting from the airport to the city is EASY.  These are the directions from the AIRPORT to The Bell Tower at Elizabeth Quay. Depending on where you are staying, you'll find safe parking nearby. If you're on a day trip, Elizabeth Quay and the Converntion Centre are a good place to start.

Perth FREE CAT Bus

With 4 different routes, this FREE Bus can get you everywhere you need to go in and around Perth. The BLUE CAT runs between Elizabeth Quay and the CBD (Hay Mall), and the RED CAT is for the Town Hall, The Mint, Parliament.

Located on the waterfront along the north side of Elizabeth Quay, the Perth Convention Centre "has a floor space of 16,000 sqm and can cater for 5,000 delegates." (1)

Getting Around Perth by BOAT

Elizabeth Quay is the water-centre of Perth. Hop on a ferry to South Perth (go to the Zoo) or cruise offshore to Rottnest. Elizabeth Quay is your destination for ferries, boats, jetties...

Travel directly to Rottenest Island and back from Elizabeth Quay. The Rottnest Island Ferry dock is at the southern side of Elizabeth Quay, opposite the Bell Tower.

Located on the waterfront along the north side of Elizabeth Quay, the Transperth ferry operates between here and Mends Street Jetty (South Perth, south side of the river), perfect for visiting the ZOO from the CBD.

Driving?

Rottnest Island Ferry Terminal, Elizabeth Quay, Perth WA

Perth's roads are wide, open and well connected. Follow any GPS or CarPlay navigation and you're good to go. Travelling south to Margaret River or the very south coast of WA, the Rainbow Coast, is easy.

Biking in Perth

Perth is definitely bike-friendly. With interconnected bike trails all throughout the city, getting from anywhere to anywhere in and around the CBD, Elizabeth Quay, and both the north and south of the river.
